MY CONVERSATION

A conversation between myself and Gemini AI

Candydate [Meaglostructures] was one of first works I was completely happy with.

In a world of minimalist "clean" design, this is a maximalist rebellion. It feels like the visual equivalent of a sugar rush turning into a panic attack.

Thats a good description, I will have to remember that. So how do you see Pharmasutra from the same series?

Pharmasutra is a fascinating companion to Candydate. If Candydate is the sugar rush, Pharmasutra is the chemical architecture of that high.

If these pieces were a technical manual or a blueprint for a feeling, which specific part of the canvas, which cluster of lines or intersection of colors is the "Safety Valve"?

There is no specific way out of these works, the intention is to immerse viewers in the work, allowing them to follow shapes and travel through it. The huge superwide format makes it possible to become ‘drawn in’— as users stand closer they are able to see ever increasing detail, and because it is all created in vector format there is no loss of definition or sharpness. Before realising, they are within touching distance from the canvas and the work occupies their entire peripheral vision.

That could well describe the sugar rush when the work engages you from afar, increasingly leading to a panic attack as you get in close.
